Our mission is to advance orthopaedic care for the people of New Brunswick and beyond by delivering the highest standards of surgical excellence, education, and research. Our surgeons are committed to providing exceptional, evidence-based care tailored to the unique needs of our population.
As clinical educators, we are dedicated to enhancing musculoskeletal knowledge among future physicians in the Departments of Orthopaedics, Family Medicine, and Emergency Medicine at Dalhousie University and Memorial University of Newfoundland. Through focused research efforts, we aim to continually improve outcomes and inform best practices specific to New Brunswick.
Every aspect of our work, clinical, academic, and investigative, is driven by a singular goal: to provide the best orthopaedic care possible to our patients.
About Saint John Orthopaedics
Welcome to the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery
Zone 2, Horizon Health Network, Saint John, New Brunswick.
We are a team of 10 fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeons, each with one to two years of advanced subspecialty training beyond their residency. All are active educators, holding academic appointments as Assistant or Associate Professors in the Department of Surgery at Dalhousie University and Memorial University of Newfoundland. Many are recognized Key Opinion Leaders within their subspecialties on both national and international stages, while others contribute meaningfully to regional, provincial, and national health policy.
As one of the busiest surgical departments in the province, we provide over 18,000 patient evaluations and perform nearly 3,000 operative procedures each year. Our team uses the latest techniques and technologies to deliver innovative, high-quality care across a wide range of orthopaedic subspecialties. Whether in the clinic, the OR, or the classroom, we are proud to lead with skill, compassion, and a dedication to advancing orthopaedic care for New Brunswick and beyond.
